MEET RoseAnne
RoseAnne is a California state licensed and ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist with 30 years of experience. RoseAnne received a Bachelor’s of Science in Speech and Hearing Science from Humboldt State University, and a Master’s of Science in Communicative Disorders from San Francisco State University.
While working for nearly 20 years in the high school setting she became aware of the lack of support in identifying teenage girls on the spectrum. Using her knowledge and experience including dynamic social language groups, lunch time “Girl Power” based clubs and more, she helped uniquely quirky, teenage, high school girls learn about their own distinctive and extraordinary sets of skills
Recently RoseAnne completed cutting edge, research based coursework with the notable British psychologist, Dr. Tony Attwood and his highly accomplished professional partner, Michelle Garnett. This coursework trained RoseAnne to identify/discover and support autistic girls and women. It is based upon this knowledge that, ‘It Starts With The Heart’ originated.
Among her other accomplishments, RoseAnne founded and operated for over a decade, Transition Therapy, a private practice that focused on Social Transition. In addition, she and her previous business partner, Majella Limas, OTRL, created the, Social-Sensory Worksite Analysis, which they presented at the Social Thinking Providers Conference in 2013.
RoseAnne has three adult children. When she is not attending conferences in-person or online, she enjoys traveling, shopping for vintage furniture, listening to opera, and best of all…hugging her furry, four legged family members.
Being a committed life long learner, these are the most recent trainings RoseAnne completed:
